Join us in Hua Hin, North Thailand to make a lasting impact on local communities by assisting with construction and renovation projects. Many families live in poor housing conditions, and community facilities such as schools, temples, and hospitals require significant improvements. This program gives participants the chance to help improve living standards by providing essential construction support, including building sanitation facilities, ensuring safer homes, and empowering communities to take charge of their development.

Participants Role

  • Assist in constructing and renovating schools, community halls, and homes
  • Paint walls, repair furniture, and build communal facilities
  • Dig, assemble, and arrange construction materials
  • Ensure safe use of tools and seek guidance from coordinators when needed

Aims & Objectives

  • Create cultural exchange opportunities through our efforts with the locals
  • Give you some practical experience in light construction and renovation work
  • Support the local Thai community by improving their living standards with our construction and renovation efforts

Standard Shared Accommodation (4-12 pax) 

3 meals per day during weekdays and 2 meals per day during weekends

Water, coffee & tea at the accommodation

Pick up upon your arrival during the regular pick-up time (Sunday 06:00-16:00) and transportation during the program as per the scheduled activities

Program materials and tools required for construction work (e.g., hammers, nails, paint, and other supplies)

Training and supervision by experienced local project coordinators

Start Dates & Minimum Duration

This volunteer program runs all year round and starts every Monday. However, we recommend arriving on the Sunday to check into your accommodation and prepare for your program to start the following morning.

 

Please note that program start dates could be affected by local holidays. However, we will give you as much notice as possible if any days of your program may overlap with holidays.

 

The minimum duration of this program is 1 week, please contact us if you would like to volunteer for longer.

What are the requirements to take part in this program?

Program Requirements:

  • Age limit: 18-65
  • Minimum basic level of English
  • Proof of DBS check required
  • Proof of travel insurance required
  • Copy of passport required
  • Genuine interest in construction and community development.
  • Physical fitness and ability to engage in manual labor and construction tasks.
  • Energy, patience, and adaptability to work in a team and diverse environments.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Respect for local culture, customs, and community values.
  • Willingness to follow safety protocols and work under supervision.

Monday

Mandatory Orientation Day

On Monday of your first week at this location, you will join our orientation day, to familiarise you with the surroundings as well as local culture. Your program will continue as usual from Tuesday onward throughout the rest of the week.

What's the accommodation like?

You will be placed in one of our two centres located in a village in Hua Hin with easy access to all daily necessities. The centres include a canteen, an outdoor swimming pool, and a garden. All rooms are equipped with bunk beds, shared bathrooms, and air conditioning. Rooms will be shared with 4-12 other participants. Private rooms may be available dependent on availability.

What meals are included?

All the meals served in the accommodation are homestyle and vegetarian-friendly. You can expect typical Thai dishes, including plenty of rice or noodle dishes with vegetables. Occasionally, meat will be served, and we also serve seasonal fruits for dessert. 3 meals per day on weekdays are included and 2 meals per day on weekends. Water, coffee and tea are also included at the accommodation.

What can I do in my free time?

There are other activities that you may enjoy during your stay that are outside of your programs including going to the night market, having a mall experience, and of course relaxation at the beach.

 

Tuesday Evening

We will go to a local market at 6 PM. We will provide you with a one-way transfer and you can take a taxi to return to the accommodation. You can try some of the delicious local food that is freshly cooked and instantly served to you. 

 

Wednesday Afternoon

We will take you to a mall, market village and spend 2 two hours there from 2.30 pm- 4.30 pm. If you have to purchase any essentials or grab some food, you can do it today at the mall.

 

Friday Afternoon

We will take you to the beach and spend some time to rest and relax from 1.00 to 4.00 pm.

 

Hua Hin is a lively fisherman town and popular tourist destination, and it has a lot to offer besides just sunbathing, snorkeling and swimming at its golden beaches. Not only are there plenty of seafood restaurants and other eateries to choose from, but visitors can also enjoy golf, spas, shops, markets (including a popular night market), and Hua Hin’s Vana Nava water park.

You might also consider visiting Khao Takiab, a mountain at the end of the beach with a temple atop that overlooks the beach.

Beautiful national parks also surround Hua Hin. You might decide to go slightly further afield to explore the likes of the Pa La-U Waterfall, located 60 km west of Hua Hin in the south side of the Kaeng Krachan National Park. Alternatively, 45 km to the south of Hua Hin is the mystical Phraya Nakhon cave for the more adventurous!

Airport Pickup

An airport pick up is included on Sundays between 06:00-16:00. An additional cost will be added if arriving outside of the scheduled pick up time, so we recommend booking your flights to arrive on the Sunday.

 

*Pick up is only done at BKK (Suvarnabhumi) Airport. If you arrive at DMK (Don Mueang) airport, you will need to come to BKK airport to meet your pick up coordinator. You need at least 1 hr and 30 mins (for immigration and customs) from the time you land until you get to the meeting point. Please plan accordingly.*
